Whole Crop Marketing has announced its 9th Annual Trials Day which is to be held on Wednesday 31st July 2019 from 9am-3pm.
This year we have a change of venue. The Trials Day will be held at Hunsdale Farm, South Cave HU15 2DB.
The majority of the largest potato breeders throughout the UK and Northern Europe will be represented with small trial plots and trade stands.
A working demonstration will be happening throughout the day as well as an opportunity to view some of the newest varieties that have been recently accepted for use into the various market sectors within the potato industry on a large field size trial basis.
Come along to the AHDB stand where you will be able to hear about the latest on sprout suppression, as well as global trade and the government’s variety classification scheme.
AHDB Seminars will take place at 10:30am and 1pm, featuring:
– Head of the Sutton Bridge Crop Storage Research Adrian Cunnington, speaking about sprout suppression and recent work by AHDB to support growers following the regulatory changes to key activities.
– Head of AHDB’s Strategic Insight Team David Swales, will talk trade and latest on how Brexit will impact on the potato industry.
– Senior Plant Health & Seeds Inspector at the Animal and Plant Health Agency (AaPHA) Lynne Bradley, will speak about the Seed Potato Classification Scheme (SPCS).
WCM staff will be on hand to guide you and your customers around the site and to provide any information required.
Refreshments will be available in the form of sausage and bacon sandwiches as well as hot and cold drinks.
We do hope you are able to join us for what is proving to be a popular event in the potato calendar.
