Whole Crop Marketing’s 7th Annual Trials Day will be held on Thursday 3rd August 2017 between 8am – 1pm.
The Venue is at Low Grange Farm, Shiptonthorpe, follow the postcode YO43 3EU and the field is opposite Mile House Farm
On display this year we will have over 100 different varieties planted, along with breeder plots from HZPC, Caithness, Germicopa, Greenvale, Solana, Agrico, Meijer, IPM & Cygnet.
James Hopwood has been and will be flying the drone over the trials so we can analyse the data and compare the different varieties using this new and exciting technology.
We are also planting a ‘SolAntenna,’ which is a multipurpose electronic potato that measures the temperature, humidity and CO2 levels. It also measures the levels of physical shocks, this allows us to find out where bruising is caused in the chain.
WCM staff will be on hand to guide you and your customers around the site and to provide any information required, along with support from our Technical Director Chris Yardley, for those more technical enquiries.
Refreshments will be available in the form of sausage and bacon sandwiches as well as hot and cold drinks.
We do hope you are able to join us for what is proving to be a popular event in the potato calendar!
